TMTA holds an annual conference each year for its members. This year the opening address, given by Professor Michael Roe, was entitled, “Percy Grainger in Tasmania 1909-1935”.
In Session 1, Dr Arabella Teniswood-Harvey, Co-ordinator of the Junior Piano Program, and Lecturer in Piano and Music History at UTAS, presented the fourth Sedivka Lecture, “Music in Art: Rethinking (and refreshing) Schubert’s Moments musicaux via Whistler’s Six Projects”. This lecture demonstrated the interrelationship between art and music.
Pianist and fortepianist, Dr Julie Haskell presented Session 2, a very informative lecture/demonstration based on her PhD thesis, “Piano Repertoire of the English Classical School”.
